I was booking for the "Classic Legends of Rock 08" show when I noticed a date on the Shepherd's Bush Empire London website stating a gig by "Orchestra", former ELO members on 7th October -
ARTISTES DIRECT LTD PRESENTS presents
Orchestra (former members of ELO & ELO Part II)
at Shepherds Bush Empire, Tuesday, October 7 7:30 PM (7:00 PM doors)
http://www.shepherds-bush-empire.co.uk/listings.php
"Kelly Groucutt*, Eric Troyer, Phil Bates, Gordon Townsend, Mik Kaminski* and Louis Clark* regrouped as The Orchestra in 2001. A name, acknowledging each band member's illustrious former membership with the *Electric Light Orchestra and/or Electric Light Orchestra Part II but also forging ahead to a future utilising the spectacular symphonic rock sound for which they are unequalled. "
I was tempted ...anyone seen them..?

The driving force behind ELO was the team of Jeff Lynne (songwriter, vocals, guitar, producer), Bev Bevan (Drums), Richard Tandy(Keyboards) and Louis Clark (string arrangements / string synth). The Orchestra only has Louis Clark.
It's probably the nearest live thing you'll get to the original ELO sound. But it isn't ELO.
They have toured with a full orchestra from time to time. Try http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=WFBSSDMlwLY
