I recently discovered ELO, for myself anyway lol, and I have really fallen in love with them. I mean obviously I knew some of their hits, but wow, I am really glad I have recently found ELO. Anyways, apparently this is one of the first posts. I wouldnt have really posted if there had been a thriving forum, haha.

Welcome. You are now amoung the ENLIGHTENED.
I've a few friends who thought ELO were a bit of a guilty pleasure, then they actually started listening to the songs, and realised they had been sadly tarred with the wrong brush.. and now enjoy ELO to the same extent I do..
I think ELO are soooo overlooked.. and yet.. Lynne spent such a long time, paintstakingly making sure every song sounded perfect.. Best album for me, wow!
I was immediately intrigued with ELO when, as a "show and tell" topic, one of my fellow classmates brought in the album (yes, ALBUM - you remember vinyl...?) "Face The Music". I already thoroughly enjoyed the song "Evil Woman", so afterwards I went a bought the album - after saving enough money from my weekly 25-cents allowance! (Ok, cut me some slack - I was in junior high [circa 1976]. Guess I'm showing my age [sigh]). From there on out it was an all-consuming, life-saving musical love affair...
Kind of know how you feel. I'm about to turn 40 and I grew up with the "Hair Bands" of the '80's, but I'm a total addict since I picked up the Flashback album. Right now "Sweet Talking Woman" is my favorite. It make me kind of laugh when I think about my favs like Ratt, Scorpions, Ozzy etc. - the ELO stuff just feels good (and my 3 boys love to sing to "Rock and Roll is King)!".
Hope to see them on tour some day!
My favourite CD is Time. I'd really enjoed elo after this album. Its very impressive, especially the first 3 tracks after intro....

Electric Light Orchestra is the best group in their style.
Listen - One Summer Dream | Time - album
I have been an ELO fan since 1983 but have every single CD released in UK. I have seen them once live (Time tour 81 i think) They were Fantastic best concert I've been to, better than U2, Pink Floyd etc etc. Best CD has to be Flashback but as for individual CD's it is Time.
