Crazy about ELO!

Average: 2 (3 votes)

I grew up with the beatles but never knew that I could ever enjoy music as much as I do with ELO. Jeff Lynne is a song writing genius and I love his music. I wish he would make at least one more album after Zoom. I think he should acknowledge his fans more!? I think all ELO fans should have bumper stickers to identify us so we could discuss our favorite band. I can't explain my feelings for the music, I only know that I have very little interest in any other music but Jeff's. I enjoy astronomy and looking at the stars and planets and always associate them with ELO's music ie "Starlight" "Sweet is the Night" etc. I can't even go out on a rainy day without thinking about "Rain is Falling" or Mr. Blue Sky on sunny days! Help!!! Is there any hope for me? Am I the only crazy one out of the blue? Will this take me on and on or is It Over?

I have dozens of songs and albums from from on my ipod shuffle doesn't do it justice when you need to start with the first song and go all the way through. I had to get my daughter some Madonna tickets, for her bday so now i'm taking my ipod with me for the trip and picking up a pair of noise canceling headphones tomorrow. I'm gona be the only guy there not listening to the concert.

Ditto's to all of you. I don't just listen to a song or two, I have to play the whole album. I have their whole collection on vinyl, cd, and on my IPOD. I'm so thankful for the IPOD so that I can literally take the music anywhere I go.
Symphony for a Rainy Day is definately my favorite, but Way Life's Meant to Be sends chills down my spine. I can also relate to "wishing I was back in 1981". How could he have written such prophetic words back then that would still resonate 27 years later?

I'm also in love with Elo's music. Their music inspires me everyday. Jeff''s music is part of me and it's with me wherever I go. I wish I could see them perform live.

I put all of the songs on my iPod and made Cd's out of the songs so I could have them in the car. when I feel anything I put on a ELO song reflective of that mood, I find myself constantly listening to Shangri-la and Sweet is the Night. I'm only 15 and it's hard to find fans my age especially in Canada. I to think of songs when I'm doing or seeing things. I'm always thinking of it, right now Twilight is playing.

I thought this would be the perfect place to say hello. I, too, am crazy for ELO. So many of their songs are a time stamp in my life. I only wish I could see them perform live...

Don't fear you're alone! As a "long time fan" I need to have some songs on my mp3, my cellphone, and of course in my car's CD player... and every time I have the chance to play my keyboards it's first an ELO song I play...
...one time ELO fan, ever ELO fan...

ELO are amazing, Jeff Lynne is a genius.. I'm glad there is an official forum again! Smiling

They are one of my all time faves.
Of course I love LOTS of different rock/pop bands and I go through listening phases, but it seems that every few months or so, I dig out the ELO stash and get lost in the wonderful music!

Dude I'm so on the same page as you! I have about 50 of my fav elo on my ipod so I'm always listening. I could be cleaning the loo and still grinning from ear to ear cause elo's in my ears! I have even infected my three year old w/ the bug. Her new imaginary friend is named Mr. blue sky. I got my old man hooked with wild west hero and now his fav is twilight. There are so many good tunes I may never feel a negative emotion again lol. Here's to you and all the fans!
