Mr. Blue Sky was used in "The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". It was in the trailer, and on the Sound Track CD, but I didn't hear it during the actual movie, so I assume it was played sometime during the credits.

The movie was Xanadu. Jeff Lynn penned most of the songs which were performed my Olivia Newton John and ELO or just ELO, except Dancing by the Tubes. However, as Tadpole provides a link, Lynn was quite involved outside of ELO in addition to his ELO work.

"Livin' thing" was on the closing credits for "Boogie Nights" ... a live performance can be seen at http://www.nme.com/video/id/IwZx6GjCIOU/search/thing (not sure if that link works outside the UK), but the 1976 studio version is much clearer.

i think the soundtrack was for a movie called ZANADU starring olivia newton john,hope this helps
