The band played at Soaring Eagle and had a logo on the screen labeled:
Former Members of Electric Light Orchestra
THE ORCHESTRA
Former Members of Electric Light Orchestra II
The members included: Jeff Lynne - on keyboards, Kelly Groucutt, Phil Bates, Eric Troyer, Mik Kaminski, and Gordon Townsend.
it was my first ELO concert and I had a great time. It was in a small venue with not much on stage or with lighting (for ELO), but the music was great! I first realized that they where not on tour when Kelly said that they just arrived from England and didn't have much time to pratice before the show.
They played a lot of their popular songs and Kelly got the house on it's feet. I espically liked when the band played Standin' in the Rain followed by Mr. Blue Sky, which received a standing novation. They played both old and new songs, and they still rock!
I was just wondering if anyone else in ths forum saw the show and how they liked it compared to other ELO concerts?
I have some pictures (from a cell phone) but did not know if it was appropiate to post here.

It is widely known that Jeff Lynne has absolutely nothing to do with the group Former Members of Electric Light Orchestra THE ORCHESTRA Former Members of Electric Light Orchestra II, which I might add is just a silly name for a group. However as performers they are superb. I believe Jeff brought an injunction or something of that effect to stop ELO Part II using the name ELO Part II, presumably as he was preparing to restart ELO to coincide with the album Zoom. FTM would've told fans about this mystery appearance of Jeff Lynne, if it were true, which I strongly believe is not.
I think that the visual similarity between Phil Bates and Jeff Lynne does confuse a few people.
It looks from Phil's own website - http://www.phil-bates.co.uk/gallery.htm - that he now also wears glasses on stage which makes the Jeff Lynne resemblance even stronger, although I don't think he ever set out to be an impersonator.
Phil was in Orchestra (known by their previous name) from around 1993-1998 and wrote several songs for "Moment of Truth". He left, but appears to have returned around 2007.

I think someone is a little confused here! Sounds great concert but then you woke up, right?
Positive. Kelly started introducing the band. When he got to Jeff, Jeff came down and introduced the rest of the band.
Jeff was there? Are you absolutely sure?
