Jeff was at his song writing best at this time. Telephone line was the first ELO record I ever bought.
I love it now as much as I did then. I really love the instrumental versions on this album. The light really shines on this one.

In my humble opinion you really have to be a die hard fan to love this album. 10538 is great and I personaly like Nellie and Whisper in the Night but the deep cellos on some songs are somewhat over the top for my taste. I think Roy Wood's influence was very apparent on this album not saying that is bad. Just not for me!

Some of these songs grow on you and I never get tired of them such as stranger, Take Me On, Loser Gone Wild and Bluebird. This album has some great songs. Jeff's vocals in Loser Gone Wild and Bluebird is awesome.
Great Album!!

I have heard some people put this one down because it sounds too disco! So what! Many of these songs were some of Jeff's best work. It doesn't get much better than Midnight Blue and Need Her Love. This is one of my favorite albums. I won my wife over to ELO with these songs many moons ago!

A Classic

This concept album is truely a classic! Some day I hope it gets the recognition it deserves. Jeff again shows off his imagination and his great song writing abilities. This album seems to go 'fast forward"
from one great song to another. Can't Get It Out Of My Head has to be the best on the album and probably one of the very best songs ever written, but only if Jeff sings it!

REVIEW

Fantastic

ELO found themselves in this album and realized their potential as as major force in the music world.
Jeff's ability to write songs like the beautiful "Waterfall" and "One Summer Dream" is only exceeded by his melodic singing ability and the talent put forth in his arrangements.

Early ELO

My favorites are Blue Bird is Dead and Oh no not Susan! Not my favorite album because I like more vocals from Jeff. Some classic songs that shows off ELO's versatility and Jeff's creativeness.

The best of the best! This album has feeling, something you don't often find in today's music. I listen to these songs over and over and never get tired of them! This is probably Jeff's best work and it proves his genius at song writing and that he is probably the best of my generation and easily surpasses any one else I have heard so far.

It seems the more I listen to these songs the more I love them. They seem to say something new each time I listen to them. The vocals and the music is awesome as usual. I love ELO. I grew up with the Beatles but after I heard Telephone Line for the first time I was hooked forever!
I hope 2008 brings us something new!
